KL Saracens 2017
Our Mighty Dragons U6s were runners up in the U6 cup final. After topping the tournament table on day one they won the semi final on day two. The final game was against our arch rivals Tanglin who fronted 8 players v our 7 Dragons. Our mighty U6s playing with one player down fought to make it 3-3. That pushed us to overtime and the first try was scored by Tanglin who won the match. Our 7 dragons really gave it there all over the two days. We are all so proud and impressed with all our U6s. We look forward to playing Tanglin A again on March 19th, at the SCC Mini League Tournament this time with a full team, 8 v 8.- Coach Dean
KL Tigers International Rugby 10's 2017
U6 & U7
This year the U6 and U7 teams combined forces for the KL Tigers tournament, put in a very competitive performance and all the kids had an amazing time!
Over the course of the 10 games that the team played over the weekend, that were a lot of dramatic moments, with each and every player having some exciting plays and scores.
At the end of the pools games, Dragons had played 9 games, won 4, lost 4 and tied 1. Within those games, we never lost a game by more than 1 try, (including a 1-0 loss to the eventual cup winners) and in the games, we won, we had the highest scoring games of the tournament. A very strong performance in defense and attack.
At the knockout stage, history looked like it may repeat itself. We were up against the Cobrats again this year, who we beat last year to win the plate. The game was a real nail biter with every single player leaving it all out on the pitch, but the Cobrats finished out the game ahead by one try.
A tough tournament, but the improvement over the weekend in all the players was dramatic and they all had a great time.
A big thank you to all the parents for supporting us over the weekend and their commitment to the club!
And thanks to my fellow coaches for all their great work with the team!
Coach Gavin
