JRCS – Junior Rugby Clubs Singapore
JRCS was set up originally to provide a league competition for the older players (U10 up) involved in the Singapore rugby clubs to experience full field competitive rugby with longer game times. JRCS added mini’s (U6 – U9) in 2017 in a regular festival format. The first JRCS League Competition took place in 2014, it has now been running for 4 years and involves some 1,500 registered players from U6 upwards. It has rapidly grown from the initial 500+ players in 2014.
JRCS is run by committee members (volunteers) from all the main Singapore clubs and is affiliated to Singapore Rugby Union (SRU). Dragons have 4 volunteers in the committee ( Jim Layard – Club President, Rebekah Fox – Finance, Sam Archibold – Medical Officer, Chris Archibold – Player Development).
JRCS is an excellent addition to the Singapore rugby scene and provides a great framework for both mini rugby festivals and a very competitive league competition.
